At the Age of 29, I was 5'7 and 204 Pounds. If someone told me I'd be hiking the Koko Head Hike in Oahu Hawaii in 6 months, I wouldn't have believed it. But I did that yesterday!
When my husband and I got married we planned to move to Hawaii.
We love the great outdoors and had always dreamed of living so close
to hiking trails that we could go every weekend!
But, after giving birth to my 2 amazing boys, I gained close to 80 pounds making it difficult for me to move let alone hike. I felt heavier, more tired, and disappointed. You can say that at that point our dreams to hike every weekend were shuttered.
In addition to that, I also did not like what I saw in the mirror. I no longer was that girl that fits into every outfit and I definitely was not the girl that my husband fell in love with. While I know he loves me, he did not look at me the same way anymore.
I couldn't blame him, because I also didn't like myself.
Until one day...
I was in the park with my children meeting a friend
who came to the park with her family as well.
She is a woman my age and half my size.
